The purpose of the Thematic Symposia (TS) is to promote advanced discussions on the topics proposed; for this reason, the participation of experienced researchers is encouraged. The proposal must have two members, all of whom must hold a doctoral degree, be affiliated with different teaching/research institutions and be in good standing with ABRALIN, with the 2025 annual dues paid.

The thematic symposia will last 2.5 hours. The symposium coordinators will select the papers to be presented. The papers submitted to the thematic symposia will be assessed by the respective coordinators. Proposals can be submitted for one of the two types of thematic symposium

a) submitting abstracts. In this modality, papers for presentation at the congress
must be submitted as abstracts, containing the definition of the topic, objectives, theoretical and methodological framework, results, and conclusion. The TS can be held in person or online.

b) submitting full papers. Proposals for this type of symposium must be
submitted in advance by the coordinators as a Thematic Issue proposal to the journal Cadernos de Linguística (CadLin), at https://cadernos.abralin.org/index.php/cadernos/theme. The TS organisers will be designated as guest editors and will be responsible for conducting the editorial process, assisted by the journal’s technical team. Submissions for this modality must include the full text of the paper, and the presentation will take place in person.
